We spent the day just relaxing at Dollar Lake for the most part—until the torrential downpour came, which lasted for about an hour. I missed it because Paul and I went into Halifax—I to enjoy the harbourfront and boat watching, Paul to go the museum of Natural History. The museum, by Paul’s account, was very good. It had some scale models of whales and other ocean creatures and tableau’s of various other animals in their "natural" settings. Admission was cheap—a couple of dollars if I remember correctly. I spent the afternoon on the harbour, people watching and enjoying Cup of Jabba coffee. There were a few slight downpours but nothing as bad as it was at Dollar Lake. Afterwards, Paul walked down from the museum and we took the ferry to Dartmouth and back. By 6:00 p.m., it seems all the stores close, so I couldn’t buy new sandals as I had planned. We drove back and stopped at a K-mart, which was also out of the good sandals. I bought a cheap pair for $9.00 and we got back to camp at about 7:30 and had a dinner of Kraft Dinner and sausages. We went for a quick swim and then turned in.
