Overblown but somewhat interesting comedy about a young man
named Patrick and his eccentric and domineering flapper
auntie Mame. Patrick is orphaned early on in life and Mame
becomes his guardian, but is opposed by more conventional
people around Patrick, who have some rights over him because
his father was concerned that Mame was too unconventional
for Patrick's good. Patrick becomes engaged to Gloria,
whose gentile parents find Mame's crowd vulgar, which
prompts Mame to sabatoge the relationship and set up Patrick
with her secretary,
