Iraq (population 14 million) is the small, irregularly shaped country in the centre. 

 
Ten Countries that are SCARIER than Iraq: Action that the U.S. has taken to contain the evil.
1.  Algeria (thousands have been slaughtered in brutal civil war that began after the army refused to allow results of election favouring Moslem fundamentalists) No U.S. reporters available due to overwhelming importance of testimony by Monica Lewinsky's mother.  No reporters, no stories.  No stories, no action.
2.  China (has occupied TIBET for 30 years) Worse than nothing: granted them "most favoured nation" trading status every year since the Tianamen Square massacre.  However, when U.S. found out Chinese factories were turning out pirated copies of U.S. made software, pulled out the big guns and threatened sanctions until China suppressed the factories.
3.  The Former Yugoslavia Some bombing of Serbian positions.  No U.S. ground troops, however.
4.  Sudan (20 years of civil war) Nothing.
5.  Rwanda (genocide, 500,000 killed in 1995; 120,000 prisoners await trial) Nothing.
6.  Nigeria (illegal military government, suppression) Nothing.
7.  Afghanistan (radical totalitarian Islamic government) Nothing.
8.  Syria (torture, repression) Nothing.
9.  Viet Nam (repression) Nothing.
10.  Liberia (brutal civil war) Nothing.
