the VX2000 uses "plug-in power" unbalanced mics. The Shure SM-58 is a "low-impedance balanced signal". That's why you need a Beachtek to connect it to the VX-2000.
I believe the Shure SM58 is a "dynamic" mic, whereas the Audio Technica's are "condenser" mics.
The wireless mics are Sennheiser EW112P UHF wireless. The frequency range is 518-550 MHz. The CH receiver is 7.. - 750 (?)

Progressive Scan DVD players only work with monitors (rare) that are capable of progressive scan. Presently, that is only high end CRT, LCD or Plasma screens.
